Dutasteride hair mesotherapy
Dutasteride hair mesotherapy is a minimally invasive medical treatment that deposits small amounts of the active ingredient through superficial microinjections in the areas of the scalp to be treated.
Dutasteride acts on the 5-alpha reductase enzyme and reduces the formation of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is associated with the progressive miniaturisation of follicles in genetically predisposed people.
The aim is to help stabilise alopecia, strengthen existing hair and improve its density and quality. Progress is gradual, and response depends on the diagnosis, the stage of alopecia and individual characteristics.
Local application
Superficial microinjections in areas with loss of density.
In clinic
The session usually takes 10 to 15 minutes and does not require admission.
Individual plan
Frequency and follow-up are decided according to the assessment and progress.
Medical assessment
Suitability does not depend only on age or how much hair has been lost. The doctor studies the type of alopecia, preserved density, previous treatments and your goals before recommending it.
It may be assessed in men and women with a diagnosis of androgenetic alopecia.
It is aimed at areas where there is still hair that the patient wants to preserve and strengthen.
It may form part of a combined plan, for example together with an oral treatment prescribed by the doctor.
It may be considered when certain oral treatments are not well tolerated.
It may offer limited results in scarring alopecias, completely bare areas or shedding due to other causes. The cause must first be identified and treated. It is also not assessed during pregnancy or when trying to become pregnant.
Indication and follow-up are adapted to the diagnosis and progress.
Dr Gustavo Mazariegos reviews your case and confirms whether mesotherapy may fit within your hair treatment plan.
The areas with loss of density are marked, and the session is explained.
Dutasteride is applied in small amounts to the selected areas. The session usually takes 10 to 15 minutes.
Frequency and maintenance are not the same for everyone. They are defined individually according to the diagnosis and observed response.
Real hair mesotherapy case
This block is prepared to include the authorised hair mesotherapy case once the final images and clinical context are assigned.
The images correspond to an individual case and cannot predict another person's response. Progress may vary.
Before starting
Information about suitability, the procedure, progress and the estimate.
It is a minimally invasive medical treatment that applies small amounts of dutasteride through superficial microinjections in specific areas of the scalp. The indication must be established after an assessment.
It may be assessed for men and women with androgenetic alopecia, early or moderate loss of density and preserved hair in the area. It may also form part of a combined plan. The indication depends on the diagnosis.
It is performed in consultation through superficial microinjections in the selected areas. The session usually takes between 10 and 15 minutes and does not require admission.
There is no standard number for all patients. Frequency, number of sessions and maintenance are decided according to the diagnosis, degree of alopecia and observed progress.
Progress is gradual and may start to be noticed during the first months. Response varies according to each person’s characteristics, the stage of alopecia and continuity with the indicated plan.
It may be assessed in women with androgenetic alopecia or loss of density when there is a medical indication. It is not assessed during pregnancy or when trying to become pregnant.
Capilar Valles does not publish a standard fee for this treatment. After the assessment, an estimate is prepared according to the indication and proposed plan for each case.
